This is a comparison of internet service provider download speeds, comparing Pakonek 300 mbps fiber to a sim card modem with a DITO sim card. This is intended for Hanna and the staff at Pakonek, from JB.
Plot of speed test data and table of calculated figures are below.
DITO sim card internet connection speed was test to servers in the Philippines, 236 tests, with an average download speed of 84.74 mbps. The standard deviation was 16.37, and max (in this case mean + stdev) was 101.11. It seems that DITO is capping/throttling the connection at 100 mbps, which is better than advertised.
Pakonek fiber internet connection speed was tested 305 times, to servers in the Philippines, with an average download speed of 39.77. Standard deviation was 12.64, and max of 52.41. It seems that Pakonek is capping or throttling the internet connection at 50 mbps instead of 300 mbps, which is what was advertised.
A computer program was written to systematically and continuously check the ping, download, upload, and jitter of multiple ISP's over the course of several days. Intervals between tests were randomized. Speed tests were conducted with both Ookla Speedtest system, and Librespeed system. Servers in the Philippines and in Los Angeles USA were used for the tests. The computer program ran continuously for several days, and randomly did speed tests automatically. Hundreds of speed tests were conducted for each ISP.
DITO is giving a connection that is twice as fast as Pakonek, even though DITO is half the price of pakonek in the packages tested.
